The weather took a downturn for several days with frost, sleet and snow coming in from the north east.
On the seafront I braved the wind in the hope of catching the Purple Sandpiper in a more accesible location - it worked.

There were 25 Sanderling and 3 Turnstone on the sea wall along with the PS.

Two Snow Buntings were reported just 50 yards further along the beach a little later but I'd left by then unfortunately.
Today things were a little warmer and calmer so I walked inland to the wood. A pair of Treecreepers were feeding away but not appearing to be looking for a nest site yet.

The rookery is very busy with birds coming and going carrying nest material. It's a great sound they make and always reminds me of spring.
