It's unbelieveable that we are in August already. It seems just a few days ago when I was wandering around in winter woolies 😂 Still, here we are at the beginning of wader migration and we have had more or less the same birds here all week. Ruff, Dunlin, Redshank, Greenshank, Little Ringed Plover, Knot, Lapwing, Oystercatcher are all seen regularly, some have been here since late Spring but others are on their way elsewhere. Curlew and Whimbrel pass over too but don't seem to stay.
Quite a few of the photos of birds on the Mere in this blog post are taken from a fair old distance, so please excuse some of the quality. They are at least a record of the birds we've had.

There goes another week, blink and you miss them as they go by so quickly.
I'm looking forward to seeing a few different waders passing through over the coming couple of weeks 🤞
