The white, ghostly leucistic tern is still at the Mere and has now been id'd as an Arctic Tern.
I went out today with my camera for the first time in 10 days and managed a few photos from first field as it fed along the reed bed edge.
A lovely looking bird!
It caught several fish, but always facing away into the northerly wind |
The Black Tern was there too but way over the other side so no images.
Reed Buntings, Reed Warblers and Sedge Warblers were keeping things ticking over in the reed bed but nothing more interesting turned up while I was there.

Butterflies were up and doing, also revelling in the sun's rays after several gloomy days. Red Admiral, Speckled Wood, Small Tortoiseshell, many whites and a fine looking Holly Blue turned up.
